Sue was born Susan May August and was the only daughter of parents Muriel and Charles, better known to most people as Gus.

Sue and I met in Peterborough when she was eighteen. We were married in April 1985. We remained in Peterborough throughout our married life, moving to our present home in 2010 to allow Sue’s mum, Muriel, to come and live with us so that Sue could give all the help and support she needed in her later years.

Our first holiday together was to France, we both loved the country and spent many holidays there, after spending several holidays at a friends house in Normandy, we started to make friends in that area.
When Muriel passed away we knew the time was right to buy our own holiday home there, finding a small house in the village that was our first choice of location.

It was Sue's last project to decorate and furnish the house and apartment to her taste, I was merely the labourer to make her ideas come to life.
With the apartment she wanted to make sure it was comfortable for anyone to use, yet she was keen to make sure it was completely accessible for our friend Andy who is a wheelchair user.
It was to become the last French home of our good friends Pam & Alan, who after more than thirty years living in France, spent their last six months living there before moving back to the UK.
We used to visit 6 or 7 times a year and became great friends with our neighbours, Stuart & Elaine.
Sue was far more proficient at French than me and was well known in the local shops.
I know Sue will be missed in St Sever.
More about our French house can be found at:  www.houseincalvados.ml

Sue was always kind, caring and very thoughtful to her friends and my partner for just over 36 years.
Sadly she passed away just 10 days after our 36th wedding anniversary aged just 59.

Donations from this tribute page are being made to Guide Dogs For The Blind, a charity Sue supported by sponsoring puppies to become guide dogs.
